LIGHTING REFLECTOR, LAMP, LIGHTING SYSTEM AND LUMINAIRE

PURPOSE:To clearly define an illuminating pattern. CONSTITUTION:A wide-angle lamp 21 comprises a wide-angle mirror 22 formed integrally with a halogen lamp IL. The outer shape of the wide-angle lamp 21 conforms to MR-16 specification. A reflecting surface portion 26 of predetermined dimensions is formed on the interior side of the wide-angle mirror 22. The reflecting surface portion 26 comprises a number of facets. The respective facets form a smooth, rectangular, planar mirror surface and each reflect the rays of light from the filament F of the halogen lamp IL in a predetermined direction so that the rays of light are emitted from an illuminating opening 24. Brightness at measuring points inside and outside the contour portion of the illuminating pattern meets Li/Lo>=1.2 and the apparent area of the reflecting surface portion 26 meets So/Si<=0.7. If someone looking at the wide-angle lamp 21 near the peripheral portion of the illuminating pattern moves, the number of facets that reflect the rays of light from the filament F and seem to shine varies greatly from one side to the other side of the contour portion of the illuminating pattern, so brightness is varied remarkably.
