PURPOSE:To automatically decide a registering person and to assure the security of a cash register by unlocking the drawer of the register when the coincidence is confirmed between the fingerprint detected by a fingerprint sensor and the fingerprint of the registering person which is previously registered in a dictionary. CONSTITUTION:A lockable drawer 17 is provided to receive and dispense the cash, together with a fingerprint sensor 1. A fingerprint collator 4 unlocks the drawer 17 when the fingerprint of an operator is coincident with the fingerprint of the registering person which is previously registered in a dictionary 14. That is, the registering person previously touches the sensor 1 with his finger and the sensor 1 reads the fingerprint of the registering person. Then the feature points of the read fingerprint are turned into a template of a prescribed form. This template is registered in the dictionary 14 in response to an ID. In such a constitution, the fingerprint of the operator is red while he is operating a cash register and then collated with the template that is registered in the dictionary 14. When the coincidence is confirmed in this collation, the identify of the operator is confirmed and the drawer 17 is unlocked for receiving and dispensing of cash. |
