PURPOSE: To limit current supplied to the electric motor of an electric vehicle by providing a phase divider, a PWM(pulse width modulation) circuit, a current limiting circuit, an inverter and a brushless DC variable machine. CONSTITUTION: A speed command signal is given to a phase divider 3 through an input terminal 10. A low-pass amplifier amplifies voltage supplied to a current limiter 1 through a shunt RS 2 and it is filtered. Voltage for a control function limiting current supplied to the brushless DC electric motor 8 is given. As the current limiting function operates, the current limiter 1 sends an inhibition output signal to a PWM circuit 4 and an inverter 7 stops sending voltage to the electric motor 8. Thus, current passing through the electric motor 8 is maintained to the level of not more than a previously decided level. Consequently, current supplied to the electric motor 8 of an electric vehicle can be limited. |
