PURPOSE:To provide an oxygen concentration detector having an electrode excellent in heat resistant and durability and sustaining high response. CONSTITUTION:A discharge side electrode 26 and an atmospheric side electrode 24 are formed, respectively, on the opposite sides of a solid electrolyte 25. The discharge side electrode 26 has a composite structure of skeletal electrode 26a and a reactive electrode 26b. The skeletal electrode 26 comprises a heat resistant thick film principally forming a skeletal region having film thickness of 5-20mum and porosity of 10% or less. The reactive film 26b comprises a high response thin film principally forming a reactive region having film thickness of 0.2-2mum and porosity of 10-50%. Since the measuring electrode touching the exhaust gas has a composite structure of skeletal electrode 26a and reactive electrode 26b, high heat resistance and high response can be achieved. |
