PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily recognize defective part by partially birnging a jig, having a recess copying a part of the outer periphery of a cylinder and two parallel planes on the opposite sides of the recess, into contact with the outer periphery of the cylinder thereby bringing about a uniform gray level on the outer periphery of defective part including a welded part. CONSTITUTION:A jiq 12 having a recess 14 on the inside copying the outer peripheral surface 13 of a cylinder 1 and two parallel planes 15 on the opposite sides of the recess 14, is formed. The recess 14 of the jig 12 is fitted to the outer peripheral surface 13 of the cylinder 13 and X-rays 9, 10 are projected from an X-ray unit 7. The X-rays 9, 10 enter the cylinder 1 from one side 15 of the jig 12 and X-rays 9, 10 emitted from the other side 15 are introduced to an image generator 8 where a visible image at the welded part of the cylinder 1 is qenerated. When a defective welded part exists on the cylinder 1, gray level on the outer outer periphery thereof is set uniformly regardless of the defective point thus making the defective welded part conspicuous. |
