PURPOSE:To reduce flicker of a display picture by reading simultaneously continuous line pictures from a display picture memory and mixing picture data of adjacent lines and outputting the resulting data. CONSTITUTION:Input picture data with high luminance inputted via an interface 39 whose lightness changes suddenly between lines are written in display picture memories 42Y1,42Y2,42C1,42C2 via an arithmetic operation memory 40. Then continuous line pictures are simultaneously read from the memories 42Y1,42Y2,42C1,42C2 and given to a flicker reduction circuit 41F, in which they are weight-summed, and the result is outputted while being mixed with picture data of adjacent lines. Through the mixing, rapid lightness change between lines is reduced and flicker of a displayed picture is reduced. |
