PURPOSE:To form a uniform illuminating pattern on a surface to be illuminated. CONSTITUTION:A lamp 21 comprises a bowl-shaped mirror 23 integrally mounted to a halogen lamp 22. The filament 24 of the halogen lamp 22 is disposed along the axis of the mirror 23. A reflecting surface portion 31 is formed on the interior side of the mirror 23 and divided radially in its circumferential direction at every predetermined dividing angle and divided also along its diameter into a number of concentric steps so as to form a multiple of facets 32. When the dividing angle of the reflecting surface portion 31 is (n) [ deg.] and the diameter of the filament 24 is (d) [mm], the diameter (d) of the filament 24 is equal to or greater than (1/3)(n). The ray of light that the filament 24 emits is reflected by each facet 32 and illuminates a surface to be illuminated at a predetermined illuminating angle, thus forming an illuminating pattern. No radial fringes are therefore produced in the illuminating pattern.
