PURPOSE:To miniaturize and make a device compact in the device for recording and reproducing by using an optical card forming many information tracks along the longitudinal direction of the card main body. CONSTITUTION:A shuttle 1 holding an optical card C, whose vibrator of an ultrasonic motor provided on the rear surface of the shuttle is abutted on the stator of a main body chassis 19, is moved in the direction perpendicular to the information track of the optical card C. The shuttle 1 is provided with an ultrasonic motor unit vertically and oppositely arranging long elliptic-shaped vibrators 6c, 6d and transferring the optical card held in between in the longitudinal direction and vibrators 6a, 6b having the similar function are also arranged in the vicinity of the inserting port of the device. An optical head 13 irradiating the optical card with a light beam is moved along the direction of the information track and recording/reproducing is performed by means of the seeking operation of the shuttle 1. |
