PURPOSE:To display character displayed by liquid crystal in a certain color and also to display another part other than the character in a different color. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a liquid crystal plate 1, light emitting sources 4 and 6, colored caps 5 and 7, a diffusing plate 11, a white diffusing plate 10, a polarizing plate 12, a white reflection holder 8, and a wiring board 9; and the visible range of the liquid crystal plate 1 is irradiated with color light emitted from the light emitting source 4, which is not transmitted through the polarizing plates 12a and 12b. The color light emitted from the light emitting source 6 for irradiating character is transmitted through the lower polarizing plate 12b, so that character and part other than the character are displayed in different colors by the light distribution action of the liquid crystal plate 1 and the upper and the lower polarizing plates 12a and 12b. |
