PURPOSE:To obtain a metal vapor laser apparatus which can prolong a driving time of a laser and make the supply of a metal simple and convenient. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus wherein a metal lump 4 is provided in a tube 2 and a gas sealed in the tube 2 is made to discharge and metal vapor 5 is excited by the gas discharge so as to amplify a laser, a supply means for supplying the metal lump 4 consecutively or intermittently to opposite end parts in the tube 2 is provided. Besides, metal pool parts are provided in the opposite end parts in the tube 2. A metal is put in a vessel having a vapor hole, this vessel is provided on the end part side in the tube 2 and moved by a vessel moving mechanism and thereby the metal vapor 5 is supplied. Moreover, the state of comsumption of the metal lump 4 is detected by a detector and the amount of supply of the metal is controlled in accordance with the result of this detection. |
