PURPOSE:To provide a driver for a motor in which power consumption can be rationally suppressed to a necessary minimum limit and which can be rationally driven. CONSTITUTION:A discharge circuit having a smoothing capacitor C and a discharge resistor R1 connected in parallel is connected to a power source circuit for connecting a power source to a DC corresponding brushless motor M through an inverter 1. A normally closed relay Ry3 is connected as switching means for conducting or interrupting a current in series with the resistor R1. The relay Ry3 is opened when the power source circuit is closed under the control of a controller 2 to cut OFF a current flowing to the resistor R1 and closed only when the circuit is opened to conduct a current flowing to the resistor R1 thereby to charge the capacitor C. |
