Conventional high-speed trains serve to convey passengers and goods, their load capacity being relatively limited. The new rail vehicle is intended to be suitable even for special cargos and as an alternative to transportation or conveyance on motorways. The rail vehicle has a width and height and a wheel centre distance which is at least 1.5 to 2.0 times larger than the corresponding dimensions of conventional train wagons and the distance between the wheels of this wagon. The rail vehicle is suitable for special cargos and for transporting passengers and goods and for combination with other conventional transportation systems, e.g. for transporting conventional train wagons.
