<p>A method for manufacturing a reinforced cementitious columnar structure (102) includes providing a mold (100) having a cavity which corresponds to a shape and size of the columnar structure (102), placing at least one nonwoven metal fiber mat (104) around the periphery of the cavity, filling the core volume (108) with a slurry of cementitious material (106) containing aggregate (112) having a particle size greater than the size of the interstitial voids of the fiber mat (104), curing the slurry of cementitious material (106), and removing the mold (100).</p> |
