The invention relates to a pivotable lower component of a frame for a vehicle seat, having at least two carrying brackets which can be attached to the floor of the vehicle and two rails which lie above the latter and run parallel to the carrying brackets and on which a vehicle seat can be attached with attachment means, in each case the rail which lies opposite the carrying bracket in the vertical direction being connected to two profiles in an articulated fashion so that two four-bar linkages are formed, the profiles, lying opposite one another, of the two four-bar linkages being permanently connected to at least one strut and forming a forward and a rearward fixed frame. In order to realise a constructionally simple and cost-effective lower component of the frame of a vehicle seat which is easy to adapt to different vehicles and vehicle seats it is proposed according to the invention that the articulated connection between carrying brackets, rails and frames be formed by means of a plug-in connection and that at least one torsional spring which supports a forward pivoting movement of the vehicle seat be arranged on at least one frame.
