The anti-theft protection device consists of a code input device which has an actuation element (2) and a conversion unit (3). The conversion unit (3) is connected to a comparison unit (5) which compares the input code with a code stored in a memory (6) and when they correspond it enables an electronic engine control system (4). The enabling code can be input via an actuation element (2) which is already present.
