Amide derivatives of formula (I) wherein R1 is a mono or bicyclic heteroaryl radical, R2 is cycloalkyl, R?3, R3' and R4¿ each represent hydrogen or lower alkyl, and R5 is a group of formula (A) or (B) or (C): R8-CH2-CH2- or (D) or (E): R9OCH2CHOHCH2- or (F): R9OCH2CH2- and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are 5-HT1A binding agents and may be used, for example, as anxiolytics.
