The invention relates to a method for inputting information into a digital passenger information system in mobile or stationary installations, in particular in public transport vehicles, using read/write memories and a processing computer. The object of the invention is to create a method of the generic type which makes possible a simple, cost-effective, reliable and rapid input of information into a passenger information system and ensures automatically provided passenger information of high reliability and contemporaneity of the information output. The object is achieved by the fact that the read/write memory is introduced into the processing computer and the desired information is written thereto, that the read/write memory which has been written to is introduced into the digital passenger information system and is read out there. According to the invention, the read/write memory is formed by a flash card or a SRAM card.
