In a self-centring weighing pan for a top-pan balance, especially a high resolution precision balance, having a base part (3) which can be connected to the load pick-up, having a pivoting part (4) which can be coupled therewith, which can be pivoted to a limited extent horizontally about a vertical centre axis (A1) of the base part (3) or of the force introducing axis in a self-centring manner, the pivoting part (4) consists of an upper pivoting lever (5) which accepts a load pan (14) on its upper side and is connected, at its end accepting a first obliquely positioned pivot axis (A3), in the manner of a rotary joint to a lower pivoting lever (7), via a spherical bearing (6). The pivoting lever (7) is, for its part, connected to the base part (3) in the manner of a rotary joint via a spherical bearing (8) in a second obliquely positioned pivot axis (A2), both the pivot axes (A3, A2) being arranged at a distance from each other off-centre with respect to the vertical centre axis (A1) and intersecting the vertical centre axis (A1) in a virtual pivot point (DP) above the load pan (14) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
