A description is given of an apparatus for the positive transmission of a movement from a first to a second medium (10, 12) separated from the first, which apparatus has, between its input and output sections (14, 16), a metallic bellows seal (18) which, together with a housing (20) of the apparatus, divides or encapsulates in a reliably sealed manner the input section (14) - connected to the first medium (10), for example an atmosphere under standard conditions, from the second medium (12), for example a vacuum, connected to the output section (16), it being possible for controlled rotary or translational movements to be transmitted to the second medium (12). As a result, the input section (14) of the apparatus cannot contaminate the second medium (12) or be attacked by the latter. Moreover, only the output section (16) has to be made from special materials or by special methods which take account of the second medium (12). <IMAGE>
