FLUIDIZED BED

Mounted in a horizontal position atop a fluidized bed (1) is a first cyclone (2) which extends about the length of the fluidized bed (1) and which has an axial gas outlet (15). The gas flowing through the fluidized layer (3) can be delivered substantially tangentially to this cyclone (2) over the length of the fluidized bed (1). At least a portion of the solids separated in the first cyclone (2) are fed back into the fluidized bed via a first solids outlet (4). Secondary gas is fed tangentially into the first cyclone (2) via a secondary inlet (6) which is situated opposite the first solids outlet (4) in the axial direction. Connected with the first cyclone (2) is a second, also horizontally positioned cyclone (7) which has a smaller diameter than the first cyclone. The second cyclone (7) has a second solids outlet (8).
