A bracket for supporting a beam 2 or the like from a horizontally extending member 1 comprises suspension means 8, 9 formed at the upper end of the bracket to enable the bracket to be suspended from the horizontally extending member, the suspension means comprising spaced apart, aligned hook portions 8, 9 of the bracket which extend up and over in opposite directions such that the bracket may be suspended from the first member by offering the bracket up to the first member with the first member passing between the aligned portions and then rotating and lowering the bracket so that the bent over Portions are hooked over the first member.
