A control system of electromagnetic clutch for vehicle, capable of preventing an erroneous line-to-ground fault detection due to a noise or the like. The system includes: a clutch current control means 1; a clutch current operation means 2A; an electromagnetic clutch 5; and a clutch output terminal voltage detection means 6. When a line-to-ground fault exists in the electromagnetic clutch 5, the voltage level of a clutch output terminal 29 during a reverse excitation is driven to its low level. Such ground fault state is detected at the clutch output terminal voltage detection means 6 and the result of detection is supplied to the clutch current operation means 2A. If the ground fault state in the reverse excitation mode continues for a certain time period, the clutch current operation means determines it as a line-to-ground fault, where a clutch current command signal SI and a clutch release signal SO to be supplied to the clutch current control means 1 are set into the direction of releasing the electromagnetic clutch 5. <IMAGE> |
