The entrance to an elevator cab is provided with wedge gaskets both above and below the cab door opening. The upper gasket is mounted on the door opening header, and the lower gasket is mounted in the door sill. Gasket-engaging brackets are mounted on the top and bottom of each door to snugly engage the gaskets when the cab doors are closed. The seal is not established until the doors are completely closed.
