<p>A shut-off valve assembly (1) for a vibration damper is provided in a fluid connection between two chambers of the damper. It comprises a housing with at least one valve seating (13), and a valve member (15) urged by a closing spring (17) into a closed position, the position of the valve member (15) being variable by means of a magnet winding acting on an armature (21), the assembly (1) having a number of components including at least one spring (17, 29) arranged in a series. To simplify assembly of the components, the spring (17, 29) is connected to each of a pair of components (15, 7; 25, 27) adjacent the spring in the series, to form a sub-assembly. The connections are arranged to withstand a load corresponding to the sum of the spring force and the weight of the relevant components. The connections are either by the spring having its end turns press fitted into position or the end turns being sized to locate in cut-outs in the adjacent members. <IMAGE></p> |
