Mfr. of lead-frame forming material comprises (a) continuously subjecting a metal web to a degreasing treatment and an acid cleaning treatment, (b) coating a light-sensitive material on the metal web, followed by drying to form a light-sensitive layer, and (c) cutting the above coated lead-frame forming metal web in fixed lengths along a longitudinal direction or winding the web into a roll. The process further comprises coating an intermediate layer on the obtd. metal web before coating the light sensitive material, in order to increase the adhesiveness between the metal surface and the light-sensitive material, and forming a matting layer onto the light sensitive layer to improve adhesion thereto under vacuum.
