The apparatus can remove the Hangul title section and display only the caption title by extending caption box signal to the Hangul title section. The apparatus comprises: a low-pass filter (1) receiving the video signal with caption data and passing the low frequency, a caption decoder (2) decoding caption data to ouput box signal/character luminance signal in conversion, a synchronizing signal seperation part (3) seperating horizontal/vertical synchronizing signal from video signal, a switching part (4) compounding video signal and caption signal, a delayed pulse generator (5) generating Hangul title removing signal using vertical synchronization signal.
