摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obviate the production of induced domains despite frit sealing and improve durability against long-time current supply by forming the specific polybenzoimidazo pyrolone polymer layer as an orientation layer between the conductive film and liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:The polybenzoimidazo pyrolone of the formula, diamino dialkoxy carbonyl amino tetraphenyl compound and tetracarboxylic acid di-anhydride are reacted at an equal mole in a solvent such as of N, N-dimethyl acetamide or other, whereby the polymer solution is obtained. The solution prepared by diluting this is coated on substrates which have beforehand been formed with inorganic films of SiO2 and have the transparent electrodes composed mainly of In2O3, etc. thereon and is then heated, whereby the orientation layer is formed. Next, this layer is rubbed in one direction with cotton cloth or the like and glass frit is printed on the periphery of the substrates. Two sheets of such substrates are combined and the assembly is fired at 400 to 480 deg.C, whereby the element is produced. Since the heat resistance of the polymer used is good, the element withstands firing of high temperature.</p>
