PURPOSE:To provide a nearly equal amount of liquid feed to each bath in filter press type electrolytic bath, the differential internal pressure between the inlet and outlet headers are controlled to become greater than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Filter press type, particularly ion exchange membrane electrolytic bath is provided with anode 1, cathode 2 cation exchange membrane 3, and diaphragm 4. Each of unit bath consists of anode chamber A containing the anode 1, and cathode chamber K containing cathode 2. Saline water fed from the inlet header 5 is distributed through each flexible hose 6 to each chamber A, and drain liquid is discharged from the chamber to the outlet header 8 through each flexible hose 7. Similarly, NaOH solution is fed 9 and discharged 11. To provide a nearly equal amount of liquid feed to both chambers A and K, the differential pressures between headers 5 and 8 and/or between headers 9 and 12 are specified to a value greater than 1500 mm water head. |
