PURPOSE:To select the optimum substitute font to each command font by selecting the substitute candidate font applied to a printer from substitute candidate fonts as a substitute font. CONSTITUTION:A raster image data forming part 42 analyzes printing data to select the name and character code with respect to the character code in the printing data to issue a command for a font supply part 43 to require, raster data showig a character. The font supply part 43 confirms whether a font of an indicated name is held to a font holding part 44. Various fonts used in this system are held to the font holding part 44 and up-dated or replaced as necessary. When an indicated font is held to the font holding part 44, the font supply part 43 reads the shape data of the character code required from the fonts to supply the same to the raster image forming part 42. |
