PURPOSE:To reduce the poisoning of a catalyst, enable recycling use of the catalyst, and improve the production yield by performing a reaction in an alcohol solvent, when a 1,3-diaminopropane is produced from acrylonitrile by a continuous through production method. CONSTITUTION:In a method for producing 1,3-diaminopropane by reacting acrylonitrile with ammonia and subsequently catalytically reducing the reaction product, the reaction is performed in an alcohol solvent. The alcohol comprises one or more kinds of methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, secondary butanol, isobutanol, teriary butanol, methoxyethanol, ethoxyethanol, isopropoxyethanol, methoxyisopropanol, ethoxyisopropanol and isopropoxyisopropanol. The method enables to improve the reaction rate, shorten the reaction time, reduce the production of high boiling point by-products, facilitate the purification of the 1,3-diaminopropane, and largely reduce wastes. Therefore, the method is industrially and economically advantageous. |
