PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound exhibiting excellent antibacterial activity against a wide variety of bacteria belonging to Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria and useful as an antibacterial agent and its intermediate. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I {R<1> is lower alkyl; R<2> is OH, group of formula II [ring A is nitrogen-containing (un)saturated (substituted) monocyclic heterocyclic group or condensed heterocyclic group], etc.; R<3> is H, anion, etc.} or its salt, e.g. sodium 7beta-[(Z)-2-(2-amino-4- thiazolyl)-2-(methoxyimino)acetamido]-3-[(E)-4-hydroxy-2-butenyll-3-ce phem-4- carboxylate. The compound can be produced e.g. by reacting a compound of formula III (R<7> is H or amino-protecting group; R<9> is carboxyl-protecting group) with a compound of formula IV (R<10> to R<12> are H, nitro, etc.) in the presence of bis(dibenzylideneacetone)palladium in a solvent such as THF, optionally deprotecting the reaction product and subjecting to esterification or salt-forming reaction. |
