PURPOSE:To provide an ageing device for foamable molten matter composed of a thermoplastic resin effective at a time of the production of foam foamed at high magnification, especially, large foam by an extrusion foaming method. CONSTITUTION:After foamable molten matter obtained by adding a foaming agent to a thermoplastic resin in an extruder is cooled to proper foaming temp., the molten matter is allowed to naturally flow while the proper temp. is kept to be guided to a cap to be aged during this period. In this ageing device, a heating mechanism 37 is provided to the outer surface of the device and a molten matter passage 30 is provided in the device. Further, a cylindrical mesh tray 34 distributing the flow of the molten matter and a torpedo 36 dividing the interior of a cylinder are provided on the way of the passage and cylindrical inner chambers 38, 38 have volume sufficient to age the molten matter. |
