摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain local information on the density of the osteobeam from an image on the bone part with good accuracy by eliminating errors at the time of setting a prescribed region within the image of the bone part in the method for measuring the osteodensity of the image of the bone part to be used for diagnosing the osteoporosis. CONSTITUTION:An image signal 1 indicating the radiation image with the examinee including the image of the bone part as a subject is subjected to a wavelet conversion 2 by rotating a prescribed basic wavelet function on the radiation image and fluctuating a reduction rate within a prescribed range. As a result, the wavelet conversion factor groups of each of respective pixels are calculated. A representative value 3 among these wavelet conversion factor groups is then calculated and the density 5 of the osteobeam in the tissue of the bone part in the radiation image is determined in accordance with the magnitude of the reduction rate 4 of the basic wavelet function used for the wavelet conversion at the time this representative value 3 is calculated. The density of the osteobeam may be indicated by a density value or colors in accordance with the magnitude of the reduction rate 4.
