PURPOSE:To obtain a microporous precise filter membrane having high reliability in the separation of a virus and a high processing speed. CONSTITUTION:A virus separating membrane is a microporous membrance composed of polyolefin and formed so as to have a three-dimensional structure wherein pores communicating from one surface of the membrane to the other surface thereof consist of an aggregate of fine polyolefin particles mutually having intervals and a large number of microfibriles connecting fine particles. The size of the pores of one surface of the membrane is twice or more than that of the pores of the other surface thereof and there are two max. values of pore size distribution within a range of 0.01-10mum and the bubble point of the membrane measured by methanol is 2.5kg/cm<2> or more and the water permeability speed of the membrane at the time of differential pressure of 1kg/cm<2> is 0.5ml/cm<2> or more.
