PURPOSE:To provide a rear axle suspension device equipped with an enhanced running stability by securing a pair of leaf springs to a frame so that their front opens a little to car advancing direction. CONSTITUTION:Front extremities 1AL, 1AR in advancing direction of leaf springs 1 are secured to a frame through pins while the tails 1BL, 1BR are mounted on the frame 2 through a pin and a shackle. Therein the leaf springs 1 are so arranged that the spacing L1 of their front extremities 1AL 1AR is 5-10mm greater than the tails 1BL, 1BR. When an external force is applied to the left side about the advancing direction and the steering wheel is turned left for maintaining the heading, the car body is willing to rotate to the right with the centrifugal force. The rear wheels receive the rotation, and a leftwise lateral force is relatively applied to the axle. Fixed to the leaf springs 1, the rear axle 3 rotates to the left about the advancing direction, and steering takes place automatically in the same phase as the steering of the front wheels so that the driving performance and running stability are enhanced. |
