PURPOSE:To improve safety and shorten construction time by measuring the distance between a shield excavator body and the reference face of a fixed point in the body, and the distance between the reference face and a segment so as to automate the measurement of a tail clearance. CONSTITUTION:The body distance L2 from the reference face P of a fixed point in the shield excavator main body 1 to the inner peripheral surface of the main body 1 is measured by a body distance sensor 2. The segment distance L3 from the reference face P to the inner peripheral surface of a segment 3 is then measured by a segment distance sensor 4 to obtain a tail clearance L1. As occasion calls, both distance sensors 2, 4 are moved in the axial direction of the segment 3 by slide mechanism 5. At the measuring time, the segment distance sensor 4 and the segment 3 are always opposed to each other, and at the non-measuring time, both sensors 2, 4 are accommodated in the shield excavator main body 1 to take refuge. With the adoption of two distance sensors 2, 4 and the slide mechanism 5, the reliability and reproducibility of the measured value can be improved. |
