PURPOSE:To provide the controller of an automatic transmission which can prevent a non-required rapid advance of a vehicle by providing a gear position detection means, a speed detection means, a brake detection means and a blocking means. CONSTITUTION:Outputs of a crank angle sensor 14, a gear position detection device 26 and a brake switch 27 is read via a processing circuit 23 or an input interface circuit 22 in an automatic transmission controller 1. The set position of a shift lever 28 in the automatic transmission 4 is detected by the gear position detection device 26. The brake switch 27 is made conductive when a brake pedal 29 is stepped in. The set from the parking position to the other positions of the shift lever 28 is allowed by a process device 23 only when the brake pedal 29 is stepped in, and it is realized by an electromagnetic solenoid, etc., when the brake pedal 29 is not stepped in. Consequently, switching of the shift lever 28 from the parking position is blocked. |
