PURPOSE:To obtain the subject foam which is used as sheets and films because they have a sufficient strength even when foamed in a high expansion rate by mixing water-containing starch, water-containing PVA resin, and nonionic surfactant, then melting and foaming the mixture under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:(A) A starch high polymer of 5 to 30wt.% water content such as corn starch, (B) a PVA resin of 5 to 30wt.% water content, preferably of 80 to 100 (mole) % of saponification degree and 700 to 3,000 polymerization degree, (C) a nonionic surfactant, preferably polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether are mixed so that the total water content is adjusted to 5 to 30wt.%, then the mixture is molten and foamed to give the objective foamed product of 0.2 to 0.02g/cc density. The weight ratio of component A to component B is preferably 2:8-8:2. |
