PURPOSE:To provide high elasticity rubber sponge having elasticity far superior than that of conventional closed-cell rubber sponge. CONSTITUTION:In order to further enhance the elasticity of conventional closed cell rubber sponge said to be high in elasticity, the pressure in internally dispersed closed cells may be enhanced. Therefore, at first, conventional closed cell rubber sponge is allowed to stand in gas whose pressure is controlled so as to be made higher than that in the cells of the rubber sponge without exerting chemical effect on the matrix rubber of the rubber sponge to enhance the pressure in cells. Thereafter, the surface of the rubber sponge is chemically modified by halogentation to impart barrier properties to the rubber sponge or subjected to pretreatment such as halogenation treatment in order to obtain good adhesiveness before coated with a barrier film of a polymer of a different kind. |
