PURPOSE:To realize the maintenance by a capping mechanism and to improve and enhance the cleaning capacity of the nozzle surface of an ink jet head. CONSTITUTION:A cap posture changing means 5 inclining the posture of the elastic cap 2 of a capping mechanism to elastically bring the one-side leading end part of the elastic cap 2 into contact with the surfaces of the nozzles 1a of an ink jet head 1 and a wiping drive means 6 relatively moving the elastic cap 2 along the surfaces of the nozzles 1a of the ink jet head 1 are provided. Further, a capping maintenance control means 7 operating a negative pressure suction recovery means 3 in such a state that the nozzles 1a of the ink jet head 1 are covered with the elastic cap 2 by a cap opening and closing drive means 4 and a wiping maintenance control means 8 operating the wiping drive means 6 in such a state that the elastic cap 2 is inclined by the cap posture changing means 5 and operating the negative pressure suction recovery means 3 are provided. |
