PURPOSE:To reinforce a steel structure so as to be able to develop large reinforcing effect by simple work. CONSTITUTION:An epibis type epoxy primer synthesized from bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin is applied to the surface of the structural element to be reinforced of a steel structure and, subsequently, at least one long fiber prepreg is bonded to the formed primer layer in an uncured state through a room temp. curable adhesive to reinforce the steel structure and the surface of the structure may have a complicated shape such as a curved surface. By this constitution, a special process such as thermal curing is dispensed with and wt. increase due to reinforcement can be markedly reduced. |
