FOREIGN MATTER REMOVING DEVICE FOR BAND MATERIAL WELD ZONE

PURPOSE:To prevent lining of rolls after a welding machine and band materials from being damaged, to reduce equipment control expenses and to improve the quality of band materials in the device to remove welding foreign matter generated and stuck when preceding band material and succeeding band material are welded and joined together. CONSTITUTION:An upper grinding wheel 1 and a lower grinding wheel 2 are arranged upward and downward in opposition with band material 50 between on the outlet side of the welding machine 53 of a device which welds and joins the rear end of the preceding band material 50 which is rewound by a No.1 payoff reel 51a and being cold-rolled and the tip of the succeeding band material 50 which is rewound by a No.2 payoff reel 51b by the welding machine 53 and sends these materials to a cold rolling mill group 59 and a gap adjusting means of these upper and lower grinding wheels is provided. While the upper grinding wheel 1 and the lower grinding wheel 2 are rotated, the band material 50 is advanced and the weld zone thereof and the front and rear thereof are ground and the welding foreign matter such as spatters stuck to the vicinity of the weld zone at the time of welding is removed. This gap by wear of the upper grinding wheel and lower grinding wheel generated at the time of grinding is controlled by the gap adjusting means.
