PURPOSE:To provide a luminous display device which can display a variety of contents through simple constitution and a simple control program using light emitting bodies such as light-emitting diodes. CONSTITUTION:Light is applied to a display surface 2 having desired patterns formed thereon, so as to vary the contents displayed. Light emitting bodies 9, 10 are arranged in predetermined numbers of rows and lines on a printed wiring board 4 to form a first 6 and second 7 luminous matrix. The rectangular light emitting bodies 10 constituting the second luminous matrix 7 are arranged in parallel crosses at the outermost peripheral line and row of the round light emitting bodies 9 of the first luminous matrix 6. The light emitting bodies 9,10 forming the first and second luminous matrices are driven in sequence by a desired program so that they emit light. |
