PURPOSE:To obtain a pattern area rate measuring apparatus which can measure a pattern area rate of a printing plate even if the plate is set longitudinally or laterally. CONSTITUTION:The pattern area rate measuring apparatus comprises many photosensors P1 so scanned at a printing plate 4 and aligned and disposed to receive, reflected light quantities from the plate 14, and a data input unit for inputting at least printing plate set data which means that the plate 14 is set longitudinally or laterally. When the plate is set laterally, received outputs of the photosensors P1 are integrated at each scanning based on printing plate set data of the input unit to correspond an integrated result to each ink key 28. The apparatus also comprises an arithmetic circuit CPU for calculating to integrate the outputs in a scanning direction at each sensor P1 based on the plate set data of the input unit when the plate 14 is set longitudinally and to correspond an integrated result to each ink key 2. |
