PURPOSE:To obtain the subject refrigerant capable of increasing heat storage amount, improving cold heat transportation efficiency and economic efficiency by making low-temperature sherbet-like ice comprising a water-insoluble antifreezing fluid having a specific viscosity. CONSTITUTION:This refrigerant comprises a water-insoluble antifreezing fluid having 0.4-3,000cst viscosity at 25 deg.C. A silicone oil and a fluorine-based inert oil having low viscosity and a low freezing point are preferable as the water- insoluble antifreezing fluid because of their chemical inertness and high safety. The water-insoluble antifreezing fluid is usually obtained by dispersing 50% water at the most to give an emulsion and then a sherbet-like ice. To increase the number and the amount of water drops dispersed into an oil, a granular absorbing substance having absorbed water and an anionic or a nonionic surfactant is added to the oil and preferably made into a colloidal solution. Starch, PVA, etc., to be stable to the oil is preferable as the water absorbing substance. |
