PURPOSE:To obtain a long product with a desired modified cross section and to protect an apparatus from damage by controlling the pressure applied on an orifice. CONSTITUTION:When unvulcanized EPDM, which is divided into supply ports 12, 16, is extruded with a movable die plate 7 positioned extremely outward, the extruded material is obtained with its trim part 3 shaped by a fixed orifice 10 and with its lip part 4 shaped by a movable orifice 14. Both parts are joined together by passing the EPDM through a joining orifice 17, and a molded product is obtained after passing through a joining-molding orifice 21. When the die plate 7 is moved toward the fixed orifice 10, the width of the joining orifice 17 and the lip part 4 is made shorter. Although the opening area of the joining orifice 17 is reduced, since a bypass hole 22 is connected to the joining orifice 17, the excessive EPDM is discharged to an discharge opening 23 through the bypass hole 22, controlling the pressure applied on the orifice 17 etc. |
