PRODUCTION OF QUARTZ GLASS PREFORM

PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently produce a quartz glass preform by shortening the effective stroke of a porous glass preform sintering device and the total height of a pulling-up device. CONSTITUTION:The porous glass preform sintering device for producing a quartz glass preform is provided with a pulling-up mechanism for fixing the porous glass preform, taking out the dehydrated and vitrified quartz glass preform and moving a carriage to rotate the preform in the vertical direction and a mechanism for horizontally moving the preform at right angles to a pulling-up shaft, and the seed rod of the preform is directly clamped by the mounting and taking-out device without any supporting rod.
