PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material having good water resistance and reduced in yellowing. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron donating leuco dye, an electron acceptive org. acidic substance allowing the leuco dye to develop a color by heating and an adhesive resin as main components is provided on a support and an overcoat layer containing a water-soluble resin and or/a water- dispersible resin and pigment as main components is provided on the thermal color forming layer if necessary, glyoxal with glycol aldehyde content of 2% or less is added to the thermal color forming layer and/or the overcoat layer as the water resistant agent of the resin. |
