<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a target plate profile through bending of work rolls by displacing the intermediate rolls of a 6-stage mill in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:In a tandem mill 6, at least one of plural mills 8, 9, 10, 11 is composed of a 6-stage mill in which work rolls, intermediate rolls and backup rolls are arranged respectively above and below a material 3 to be rolled. The thickness of a cross section before and after rolling a steel strip 3 rolled by the tandem mill 6 is detected by plate profile detecting means 4, 7 on inlet and outlet sides. Work rolls 13a, 13b having a right circular cylinder shape each are used, each of upper and lower intermediate rolls 14a, 14b is displaced in directions reverse to each other in the axial direction, plate profile is controlled in this way, a desired target profile can be accomplished easily.</p> |
