PROCESS AND MACHINE FOR CONDITIONING ANY PRODUCTS IN CONTAINERS SUCH AS BARQUETTES

A process for conditioning products, such as foodstuffs, in containers having e.g. the shape of boat-shaped receptacles, involves advancing on a conveyor or the like a tubing film closed at its forward end and into which is sent a gaseous mixture and is housed at least a container filled with product. The tubing film is sealed by welding in the area of the rearward end of the container and separated from the remaining portion of the tubing film. The separated tubing film portion is then heat-shrunk. Before welding the tubing film in the area of the rearward portion of the container, heated air is injected onto the external wall of the tubing film from its closed forward end until at least its portion corresponding substantially with the middle of the container so as to pre-shrink the tubing film with expulsion of the gaseous mixture rearwards. Vacuum is then applied inside the tubing film from the rear portion to complete expulsion and facilitate welding of the tubing film at the rear portion of the container.
